Iain is currently the Manager for Schlumberger's Early Stage Corporate investment Group, a position he has held since forming the program in 2007. He has previously held positions as head of Global Product Development for the Well Services division, and Research Director of the Drilling Group. He has authored many technical papers, and is Editor and co-author of the best-selling text book 'Advanced Drilling and Well Technology'. Iain has had 23 patents granted in a wide range of oilfield technologies, with many others pending.
He currently sits on the Board of Contour Energy Systems, a Caltech spin-off developing revolutionary battery technologies, and the Advisory Board of the University of Utah's Energy Commercialization Center. Iain has a degree in Mathematics and Physics and a PhD in Meteorology. He is a Chartered Scientist, Fellow of the Institute of Physics and Fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society.
