Lockheed Martin Named Title Sponsor for WBT2010

Arlington, Texas (March 3, 2010) – WBTshowcase 2010, which brings together market-ready innovative technologies and those who want to invest in them, is proud to announce a title sponsor for this year’s event – Lockheed Martin. WBT2010 will be held March 15-17 at the Sheraton Arlington Hotel and the Arlington Convention Center.

“As a leader in global security, Lockheed Martin is committed to fostering innovation by identifying the best technologies from government, academia, and small business,” said Lockheed Martin Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer Dr. Ray O. Johnson. “WBT2010 provides an invaluable opportunity to connect entrepreneurs with industry to help bring these promising technologies to the market.”

WBTshowcase is the largest gathering of its kind. It is the culmination of a year-long collaboration between hundreds of entrepreneurs and commercialization professionals. The three-day event provides a forum for inventors to present their technologies to major investors and licensing scouts.

Lockheed Martin is the first title sponsor in the eight-year history of the annual technology showcase.

“WBT2010 helps inventors realize the commercial potential of emerging technologies,” said Paul Huleatt, WBTshowcase CEO. "We welcome this partnership with Lockheed Martin and appreciate the opportunity to be aligned with such a respected leader in advanced technology development.”

WBT2010 presented by Lockheed Martin is produced by Development Capital Networks in cooperation with the Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer (FLC), National Association of Seed and Venture Funds (NASVF), and National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI). The event will feature 100 emerging and converging technologies in the fields of materials science, information technology, energy, life science and nanotechnology. Attendees include seasoned seed and early-stage venture investors and Fortune 1000 licensing scouts representing a variety of industries, each looking for cutting-edge innovations with global market potential.
